JOB TITLE: Senior Civil / Structural Engineer

REPORTS TO: Manager of Engineering

SUPERVISES: - Civil Engineers, Designers



    1)Perform required Civil / Structural Engineering work on assigned projects and proposals to PATCH SERVICES LLC standards and procedures as Lead Engineer.

    2)Develop and agree to a list of project deliverables and man-hour budgets.

    3)Provide technical direction to assigned Engineers and Designers.

    4)Coordinate with Design Supervisor as required.



    1)Execute to project schedule and budget assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures and Standards all in conformity with the statement of work as defined in the Contract between PATCH SERVICES LLC and the Client.

    2)Interpret Client’s contractual specifications and standards in consultation with the Project Engineer.

    3)Prepare RFQ and Purchase requisitions for Sub-contracts, Materials and Consultants and issue to Purchasing for Inquiry, Order Placement and any subsequent revisions. Input to the master Requisition Index on a weekly basis.

    4)Review Sub-contractors’ / vendors’ bids and prepare technical bid summary, and recommend the final technically acceptable Sub-contractor / vendor, all in close coordination with the Purchasing Department.

    5)Reach a clear and full understanding of the Sub-Contractors’ / Suppliers’ technical scope of supply, drawings and other deliverables and the PATCH SERVICES LLC / Sub-contractor / Supplier interfaces

    6)Interface with the project team as necessary including structural design, buildings, temporary works, Bills of Materials, plant layout, review of critical drawings and plant safety.

    7)Participate in weekly project interdisciplinary meetings, update the Project Document Register periodically and support project-reporting requirements.

    8)Review work scope as project progresses and initiate actions for contract variations.

    9)Review document requirements and issue dates for Sub-contractor / Supplier documents at the pre-order meeting and input to the PATCH SERVICES LLC Supplier Document database and keep this database updated including identification of documents to be included in the Project Data Books.

    10)Ensure distribution of the Sub-contractor / Supplier documents to all relevant Engineering and Construction Disciplines and return of the consolidated comments to the Subcontractor / Supplier in a timely manner.

    11)Be responsible for obtaining all interface information from the Sub-contractor / Suppliers required to progress PATCH SERVICES LLC Engineering and Design effort according to the schedule.

    12)Participate in the Inspection and witnessing of tests as required.

    13)Review relevant project design work including Equipment Location Plans, Piping Layouts and models.

    14)Maintain a courteous and professional interface with the Client’s Civil / Structural Engineers on technical matters related to the technical details and compliance with the agreed project specifications.

    15)Participate in Safety and HAZOP reviews as required.

    16)Adhere to the Project Schedule and provide early warning of potential slippage and recommend the necessary corrective action to overcome the same.

    17)Candidate must have a minimum of 10- 15 years experience in design, engineering, power and cogeneration plants including thermal design, analysis, cycle performance, gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines and heat exchangers.

    18)Candidate must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. Experience with GT PRO is a plus.

    19)Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment, must have a driver personality, work with minimal supervision and interface with other disciplines on a given project. The position comes with high visibility.

    20)Candidate must hold a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University and must be a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and California by examination.
